Poem Hunters
The earliest joy from my youth was collecting agates, fossils, and other curiosities from beaches on the Oregon coastline. The thrill of finding something orange and glowing on the tide line was intoxicating. And there were quite a few times when I was on my hands and knees and digging through the sand, letting the waves do the washing off of the stones for me, always in search of something hidden from the view of regular beach strollers. Later when I discovered writing and especially poetry, I embarked on a practice that simulated this joy of rockhounding - a practice that I could perform anywhere I happened to be.
Aksa Collection Launch: Join Me March 18th at 12 PM at Drifters Cafe & Bar in Bandra
Now, that I've got an official host and the date finalized, I'm thrilled to announce the release date of the Aksa Collection, my first collection of limited-edition fine art prints.
Each image is issued in two basic sizes, small and large. I'll be displaying and selling the small-size versions at Drifts Cafe & Bar. Attendees will receive a flat 20% off any of my prints.
There are 21 prints issued for each of the small pictures and 3 prints issued for the large-scale prints. The large-scale prints can be ordered on location and buyers receive 20% off as well. Each print is signed by me and registered with Hahnemuhle.
Why I Offer Limited Edition Prints
I’ve recently rebooted my website and I wanted to offer something special to those interested in my fine art photography prints. I thought there would be no better way than to offer custom prints that are signed, limited, and authenticated by a recognized brand.
How I Turn My Street Photography Into Art #2
Welcome to my series where I tell the story behind some of my fine art photography pieces. I hope to convey to photographers that street photography is a great source for creating art. If you’re like me and love the visual arts but lack any talent to paint or draw, photography has become the artistic surrogate that allows me to create whenever I desire. That’s because my companion passion is street photography and I’ve literally thousands of images to choose from to create fine art photography pieces, and with and with any luck, I’ll be producing works of art for years to come.
For the first entry in my How I Turn My Street Photography Into Art, I’ll talk about the story behind “Emergence”.
