Sassoon Dock Artistic Portrait

Captured at the bustling Sassoon Dock in Mumbai, this image struck a chord with me for its raw, unguarded moment—a fleeting gesture amidst the chaos, now preserved through my lens. It's these ephemeral snapshots that I seek to transform into art, a process I'm eager to share with you.

Join me for "London Lens: A Hero's Journey Through Artistic Street Photography," where we'll dive deep into the art of capturing life's unscripted beauty and elevating it through post-production. Each attendee will receive a free subscription to Luminar Neo, empowering you to bring your artistic vision to life.

But our journey doesn't end there. Beyond the four-day workshop, embark on a year-long exploration of self and artistry with monthly group and private Zoom meetings. Through continued street photography and artistic exercises, we'll nurture a creative path that resonates deeply and personally.

Another Picture, Another Caption

"If your pictures aren't good enough; you're not close enough." - Robert Cappa.

There are two things main things I consider if someone asks me why I think their photos aren't impactful. The angle from which you're taking pictures could be one, especially if you're always shooting from eye level. The other issue to consider is getting up close and personal with your subjects, especially for candid images (even though they may see your camera as this lady did, they may not know if you're actually taking a picture because of the way you're holding the camera and not making eye contact). Some tricks of the trade to put into immediate use.

In this image, I had to get close because I was using a 24mm prime lens. If I want impactful portraits, I need to get close. Really close with this particular lens. The caveat is without annoying or unintentionally harassing your subject.

In my September London workshop, we'll be working with the 35mm focal length and with prime lenses only for the duration of the four days. If you're not comfortable getting close, the training I provide will get you there. And by the time it's over, you'll want to get close because you're going to want your images to be impactful in your street photography and fine art photography.
