Discovering Your Photographic Voice: A Journey Through Artistic Street Photography

London Lens: A Hero's Journey Through Artistic Street Photography

Once, my focus was on editing and sharing numerous street photos and portraits, driven by a passion for photo editing. Over time, however, I noticed a shift in my approach—a realization that truly impactful work comes from a deep personal connection to the subject.

It may seem straightforward, but the idea of only engaging with images that resonate on a personal level was a revelation to me, and perhaps it's not as obvious to many in the fine art and street photography realms. After years of operating almost on autopilot, selecting subjects I thought would have broad appeal, I've reached a turning point. Now, I gravitate towards subjects that stir something within me, editing and sharing only a select few.

This selective focus has brought clarity and joy to my work as an artist and photographer. It's about honing in on what genuinely excites me, even though it means narrowing my scope. This journey has been invaluable; it's honed my skills and refined my artistic voice, particularly in street photography, where I find myself drawn to the rawness of everyday struggles.

In my upcoming "London Lens: A Hero's Journey Through Artistic Street Photography" workshop this September, the goal extends beyond merely converting street shots into art. I aim to help participants uncover their unique fascinations, to see beyond the obvious and discover new passions. The 4-day London adventure is just the beginning, followed by a year-long mentorship filled with personalized exercises and group Zoom sessions, designed to set them on a new, fulfilling photographic path. It's more than a workshop; it's the start of a transformative journey.

In our photo editing discussions, we'll delve into various techniques, focusing on cleaning up images as a crucial step before transforming them into art.
