Ice Porters Along Vasai Creek

A man loading ice onto a boat along Vasai Creek. Photo by Craig Boehman.

I shot this sequence in 2017 on the north side of Vasai Creek near the Vasai Fort. It was just after sunrise and I saw a tempo loaded with ice near the makeshift dock. The boats coming in, I assumed correctly, were coming to pick up the ice. I had many factors falling neatly into place that really make my love of shooting street photography (my blanket term for shooting in public) literally click for me: a beautiful sunrise, water and ice, and people in motion performing a task. I don't do a lot of narrative or sequence shooting, but I don't miss the opportunities when they're right in front of me.
