Announcing Ai²CM: A New Series Blending AI and Intentional Camera Movement
Last night's participation in the ICM + ME Artistry: Three Voices, Three Visions symposium with Renee Lynn and nicholas x bent, moderated by Stephanie Johnson, was simply inspirational. A big thanks to Santa Fe Workshops for making it possible.
After the talk, where I demonstrated how I edited an ICM image and complemented it with AI, I realized I’d been developing this type of work for a while. It's time to officially announce the beginning of my new project, Ai²CM, which combines AI and ICM.
Here's the artist statement for the series.
"The Ai²CM series by Craig Boehman explores the intersection of Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) and artificial intelligence (AI) to create innovative works of art. This project juxtaposes subjects generated in-camera with those crafted through AI, fostering interactions that oscillate between harmony and discord. The series emphasizes humanity's discomfort with evolving technologies, particularly when integrated with traditional methods. Through this dynamic push and pull, Ai²CM delves into the complexities of opposites attracting, offering a profound commentary on the interplay between the old and the new. This series serves as a poignant exploration of technological integration in art, capturing the tension and synergy of contemporary creativity."
I plan to create a limited edition series of prints, but it's still too early to provide specific details. Stay tuned for more, and sign up for my newsletter for updates.
