About
The Mumbai Street Photography Boot Camp is a one-day, immersive experience in the art of street photography. We aren’t going to explore touristy sites! No! We will focus instead on learning the craft of street photography with the singular goal of improving our skill sets.
Through the use of exercises and proven techniques, we will capture both candid and street portraits under my supervision. We’ll explore the busy streets of Mumbai throughout the course of the day and capture life as it unfolds during the busy work week. I’ll instruct attendees to achieve set goals throughout the workshop with an emphasis on both candid and street portraiture.
For those who are uncomfortable approaching strangers on the streets, you will become comfortable with doing so by the end of the workshop. Ultimately, this means that you’ll be interacting with many more people to capture dozens of candid and street portraits. Through repetition and instruction, the art of “The Approach” will be mastered and will be one of several skills acquired that can be used in your future street photography sessions.
Who Is This Workshop For?
The Mumbai Street Photography Boot Camp is for serious beginners who’d like to learn the craft of street photography. Attendees should already have a DSLR or mirrorless camera. This experience is geared toward acquiring skills and gaining confidence in the art of street photography.
Due to the nature of Mumbai weather, attendees should possess a reasonable level of fitness and be able to be on their feet for 5 hours in the heat and humidity. While we won’t always be in the direct sunlight, making use of metro lines, buildings, and other structures for shade, there will be times when being out in the open isn’t avoidable. Attendees should dress appropriately for such conditions (hats, bandanas, sunscreen, etc.).

· 5 hours of instruction in street photography
· 1 post-workshop private Zoom call (45 mins) for post-processing instruction
· 1 post-workshop group Zoom call (45 mins if 2 or more attendees) to share best shots of the session
