* It’s highly recommended to have accommodations for the night before the start of each workshop. For instance, you won’t be able to travel to Goa the day of my workshop and check in and be ready by 5 a.m. Just be sure that any travel plans comfortably work well with a 3-full day workshop within your itinerary.

Overview

My Making Fine Art Photography Workshop is an intensive 3 full-day hands-on course (from sunrise to sunset). I’ll talk about and demonstrate a wide range of subjects during the course, with an emphasis on photography and photo editing. I’ll also cover:

  • Street photography, candid and approaching people for portraits

  • Mindset and planning

  • Scouting locations

  • Photo editing software, including Adobe Photoshop + Lightroom and Luminar Neo

  • Conceiving, producing, and presenting your daily art piece for workshop attendees and the world

  • Image compositing

  • Collecting backgrounds and templates

Who Is This Workshop For?

This workshop is intended for intermediate and advanced photographers who understand the fundamentals of photography. Each attendee should have a decent camera, laptop, and all the accessories necessary to participate in a 3-day workshop (extra batteries, lenses, tripod, camera bag, etc.). I highly recommend this workshop for those who have an interest in fine art photography and want to ultimately make prints of their work.

I’ll also recommend my workshop to those who have experience shooting street photography and are comfortable with being on their feet and active for a full day. While the shooting schedules for Goa and Mumbai aren’t that intensive, around 7 - 8 hours of photography daily split up, the pace is pretty much non-stop short of meal breaks. There’s a lot to cover!

My groups are also small. I don’t like running workshops with more than five people based on my experience attending workshops that were crowded and just plain ridiculous for gaining useful experience, in my view. I want to be available to each of my attendees and to the group. This wouldn’t be possible in larger groups without additional assistants. Plus, I want each of my people to come away with a minimum of three pieces of art that they created and are proud of. This isn’t just another workshop where whatever you shoot is fine. No! We’re going to do something with at least one of your photos every day. You’re going to have art to print by the end of my workshop.

And finally, this workshop is for those who love community, especially one based on art, photography, street photography, and helping one another out. We want to experience making art together over a few days of slugging it out, chasing light and scenes. Is this something you’re down with?

What’s Included

Three full days of instruction by artist Craig Boehman. My intention is to have workshop attendees up and ready and on location about 20 minutes prior to sunrise to start each day. The day will end after our sunset shoot, which includes some shooting time afterward until the light is gone.
